
Filmmaker Barbara Rubin, London, May 1965. Rubin happened to be in London filming when Allen arrived freshly ejected from Czechoslovakia. Rubin was instrumental in securing the Royal Albert Hall for what became known as the Wholly Communion: a hugely successful poetry reading on June 11, attracting a crowd of 6000, and a list of readers including Gregory Corso, Harry Fainlight, Lawrence Ferlinghetti and more. c.
